About the Mud Dauber Wasp

Solitary wasps that build mud nests shaped like organ pipes or pots. They paralyze spiders and seal them in nest cells with a single egg. Each cell is provisioned with multiple spiders. They are completely non-aggressive toward humans. Blue mud daubers hunt black widow spiders specifically. Their abandoned nests are used by other solitary bees and wasps. Over 30 species in North America alone. They are among the most beneficial wasps for spider control.
